MANIFESTO · OCTOBER 2026

What the chain remembers

The market is a machine for forgetting: most tokens are launched, glanced at and left behind. The chain is a machine for remembering, and almost no one reads it. The Library reads what the chain remembers, and keeps what the market forgets.

A launch is a small public act: a name, a symbol, a signature, a block. No editor reads it first, and no gallery says yes or no. Most of history is made of acts this size, and most were never written down. These were.

The first entry is dated August 3, 2026, at 19:50 UTC: a token named plsdontbuythisisatest. Its own name calls it a test. An archive does not get to choose its first line.

Every library has a shelving system. Ours is a galaxy. Each launch is a star, and its place is its call number: when it was launched, and what it was paired with. The spiral grows outward from that first entry, one turn every 46 days, and each quote asset keeps its own lane. Fame does not move a star. Neither do we.

Borges imagined a library holding every possible book, nearly all of them noise, and librarians who spent their lives searching for its catalogue. Ours holds only what was actually done: 695,706 launches on Pons as of October 15, 2026, from about 410,000 addresses. Every one happened. Every one can be found.

REFERENCE Jorge Luis Borges, “The Library of Babel”, 1941.

To catalogue is not to recommend. Anyone can launch a token on Pons, and many are short-lived. A launch is not an endorsement: a star records that a token was launched, never that it was good. A library that kept only what it admired would be a shop window.

The record is the chain’s testimony, not ours. Every entry is read straight from Robinhood Chain, chain ID 4663, through its public RPC. Each name and symbol is copied from the token’s own contract, as a cataloguer copies a title page. There is no backend, and no back room.

The catalogue is never closed. About every ten seconds, the galaxy asks the chain what is new, and a launch made while you watch arrives in gold. Somewhere, someone has just named something. Version 1 reads one launchpad, Pons. Other Robinhood Chain launchpads are planned. A library begins with a single shelf.

The market will go on forgetting. The chain keeps the text; The Library keeps the index. Between them, even the smallest public act has a date, a place and a chance of being read.
